Pre-COP30 Policy Dialogue on Climate-Induced Loss and Damage: Bridging Local Insights and National Policy Action

 

A "Pre-COP30 Policy Dialogue on Climate-Induced Loss and Damage: Bridging Local Insights and National Policy Action" was held on 22nd October 2025 at the Auditorium, Department of Environment (DoE), Dhaka, Bangladesh. The event was organized by the Bangladesh Loss and Damage Policy Lab (LDPL) in partnership with CCJ-B and many other organizations. The dialogue aimed to connect local experiences from climate-affected regions such as Barisal and Rajshahi with national policy processes to strengthen Bangladesh’s response to loss and damage. Participants discussed the limitations of current adaptation and disaster risk reduction policies, explored actionable policy solutions and emphasized the need for enhanced climate financing and community-driven approaches. The Director of CCJ-B, Adv. M. Hafijul Islam Khan was a panelist of the event.
